Trong lúc ở Bắc Bán Cầu (New York) mùa Thu lá vàng rơi rụng, nơi vợ chồng tôi đến Úc (Australia) và Tân Tây Lan (New Zealand) ở Nam Bán Cầu bông hoa mùa xuân nở rất đẹp.
Trong một entry trước tôi đã post nhiều hình bông hoa miền nhiệt đới ở Cairns Úc Đại Lợi. Trong entry này xin chia sẻ với các bạn một số bông hoa mùa xuân ở Queenstown, lúc vợ chồng tôi đến đây giữa tháng 11.

Đặc biệt mùa xuân ở Tân Tây Lan cây Kim Tước (Gorse Weed) mọc hoang nhiều quá. Tôi thấy cả đồi màu vàng rất đẹp, giống như một đồi hoa mai Mỹ (Forsythia). Hướng dẫn viên du lịch đã giải thích cặn kẻ về loại cỏ dại này của Tân Tây Lan.

Gorse Weed (Cây Kim Tước) là loại cỏ dại đặc biệt của nước Tân Tây Lan, rất khó “control” (kềm chế). Chánh quyền đã bỏ ra hàng triệu đô la để kềm chế, nhưng vẫn bất lực. Cỏ dại Kim Tước (Gorse Weed) hiện chiếm 5% đất đai ở đây. Đó là chưa kể cỏ dại mọc đầy vùng rừng núi.
